Speaker: Juliet Gerrard
Following a long and winding career path, Juliet is currently a professor at in the School of Biological Sciences and School of Chemical Sciences at the University of Auckland. She held the position of PM’s Chief Science Advisor from July 2018 – June 2024, during which her vision for the role centred around creating a trusted bridge between science, society, and government, guided by four principles: rigour, inclusivity, transparency and accessibility. She is currently enjoying a research and study leave and broadening her governance interests, e.g. she sits on the Board of Te Papa and the NZ Food Waste Champions 12.3 and is Patron of the NZ International Science Festival.
